Picking time!!!

TJ, my Dad, and I planted a HUGE garden this year! We have peas, squash, tons of varieties of peppers, tomatoes, and eggplants, cucumbers, berries, and melons. Everything is blooming and we are starting to get the fruits (veggies) of our labor!! Here are some pics...

1st of Three Great Beach Trips Lined Up...

This past weekend TJ and I headed to Santa Rosa Beach for a surprise weekend for my friend Boles. Her 30th birthday was last week. Her husband Joe recruited me to call the girls and made sure TJ came along for some much needed testosterone! She was very surprised! We had lunch Friday and then the rain didn't stop until Saturday but it was just in time for an amazing sunny afternoon on the beach! Here are some pictures from our weekend! I love 30A!!!

Looking forward to Summer!!!!

TJ and I got a new toy today! Let me back up...TJ and I have been boat shopping for the past 2 years. We love going up to the lake during the summer...heck I have grown up on Lake Martin! It has been so hard to find a good used boat that has been taken care of and in our budget. We got soooo lucky with this one. We bought it from a couple that has every service record and summarized and winterized it every year. It's in great shape. We are really excited and can't wait to share it with all our friends!

Sick plus Surgery equals Yuck!

I haven't posted since new years but I have some down time so here goes. We have had a great start to 2012! I'm so glad hunting season is over for one. I feel like I'm married again. TJ goes on two overnight runs a week so add in weekends at the hunting club and I was one lonely girl! We have spent lots of time together the last couple of weekends and it's been great.

I got a new car at the end of January and I'm really enjoying that too! It's not new but it's new to me. I now have an AUX jack and I hate to admit it's my favorite new car feature!!! I am now officially obsessed with my iPhone. I thought I was before but being able to listen to my iPod in the car has brought it to a whole new level!!!

We have planned a couple of really fun trips this summer too. With the warm weather we've been having it's all making me so excited for summer! My mom and I are going on a beach trip for my 30th Birthday just us! We are planning lots of shopping and eating! I have been on weight watchers since January and am waiting until my birthday to splurge! I've lost 12 lbs!!! I hope to look somewhat decent in a bathing suit this summer because we have also made plans to rent a condo at Lake Martin for the months of May and June with my mom and step dad.

But to explain my post title...TJ gave me a sinus infection for Valentines Day! :(. At least it came with roses!! I have been sick as a dog for days. Can't breath and coughing my head off...ugh! Then to top it off I've scheduled to have the surgery on my leg to remove the pins and plate from my accident in 2010. I go in Monday at 7:30 so keep me in your prayers!

Hideaway in the Highlands

TJ and I just got back from the most relaxing vacation. We went to Highlands, NC for the first time and stayed at Old Edwards Inn. The inn was just featured in the January issue of Southern Living. I would highly recommend this trip if anyone is going on a vacation any time soon. We also drove over to Ashville one day and toured the Biltmore mansion and grounds. The house was unbelievable for one that was built in the 1800's. It was the most extravagant thing we had ever seen. It was beautifully, no I should say magically decorated for Christmas. It was breathtaking! The last day we did a mini tour of the waterfalls...very cool! Here are some pictures from our trip. I hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas season.

We went to our first winery and wine tasting...not TJ's favorite thing. We aren't really wine drinkers I must say but it was a fun experience. This picture doesn't really do it kind of looks like a Ryan's Steakhouse. ha ha! Guess you had to be there...

In front of the Biltmore

This was called the Bass Pond on the Biltmore Estate. TJ made me HIKE like 2 miles to it and of course then we just turned around. I was sweating and of course didn't have on hiking shoes. I mean what was he wasn't like he was going to go fishing or anything. Just had to see it I guess.

This waterfall was only about 2 miles from downtown Highlands and you could actually drive under it.

Cave near the telling what lives in here!!!

We took this on the way to the second waterfall. It was a much bigger waterfall and required some hiking...again I wore the wrong shoes.

This was the second waterfall. We actually walked all the way down to it and under it as well. This picture doesn't do it was so loud and much bigger than this pictures shows.

Not quite the effect we were going for but I bet you can imagine why he wanted to take this picture!

Christmas Cards are on there way!!

I finally got all of our cards addressed and they are going in the mail tomorrow! I love sending Christmas cards. I especially love going to the mailbox every day this time of year!! It's such a fun tradition and one that makes you sit down and actually send mail...a long lost pastime if you ask me! I hope everyone is enjoying the Christmas season. I will post the photos from our annual photo session after everyone has had a chance to get the card. Merry Christmas!
